Re: Wait what did I come into this thread for again? Oh yeah, ADHD!

that is such a relatable question, @MessyGirl, how do we forgive ourselves?

sometimes I tell myself "I was doing my best with the knowledge I had at the time"

I've started doing a course on self-compassion, on the Aspect website. it's based on work by Kristin Neff, and adapted for neurodivergent people.

there are exercises to practise being self-aware and being kind to oneself

Omg @ArraDreaming was it you who mentioned the whole 'Don't take your shoes off when you get home if you want to continue being productive'? Cos last night after work I nipped to the shops, and when I got home I remembered it, and kept my shoesies on... holy guacamole batman I got SO MUCH DONE. I cleaned the litter trays, brought in my washing, took out the bins, and pottered around doing little project bits n bobs. Hottest ADHD tip ever 😂

@Glisten @greenspace @MessyGirl @Shaz51 tagging just in case you wanna use this too! 😉😌😝

@Shaz51

Thanks for tagging me hun!

Re: Wait what did I come into this thread for again? Oh yeah, ADHD!

hi @Jynx some of these memes are so relatable, I've saved them for when someone asks how I'm doing -- these memes will explain better than any words! 😆

I haven't been on the forums for ages (thus my responding just now to the memes you posted in early July) because my beloved cats have been unwell 🥺😿

Content Warning: pet loss

one of my cats is now going well, one is still not well, and one is no longer with us 😭

memes are good, word puzzles are good, talking with a grief support person through NALAG is good, gardening is great, specially now it's spring...

Re: Wait what did I come into this thread for again? Oh yeah, ADHD!

hey @Shaz51, I'm going okay, thanks. the last few months have been a rollercoaster as my beloved cats and I have all been dealing with physical health problems, but I've also connected with a local group of film nerds and we're meeting once a month to talk about a film or two each time (kinda like a book club), and I'm really appreciating getting back into the online ADHD community -- here on Sane forums, and with an ADHD group on MeetUp.

how are you doing?
