Delusional Paranoia disorder

My mum has just been diagnosed with paranoid delusional disorder - the hardest part is she has no insight into her delusions and is completely convinced they are true. This feels so “not normal” because it’s a complex mental health disorder that is not talked about. I feel very alone as a carer and am here to connect with others who might have dealt with this before to share stories.

Hello @Stiltedlegs

I just wanted to pop by and welcome you to the forums. I'm so glad that you've found this space and hope that connecting with other carers on here helps you to feel less alone.

I know it can be a very isolating position to be in, it's certainly not easy, so it's great that you're reaching out and considering ways to support yourself as well as your loved one

Re: Delusional Paranoia disorder

I am sorry I have no real words of wisdom or advice but know you are not alone. I am new at navigating this too. I know that you need to look after yourself first before you can start caring for others. Take care

Hi @Bernard welcome!!

Just a lil tip, if you want other members to be notified that you've responded, you can tag them - use the @ symbol and a drop down will appear, and you can choose their name. If their name isn't there, you can type it out and it should then appear for you to select, then it will show up in blue, like this: @Stiltedlegs

More how-to's here 😉
