Re: Hot Chocolate Anyone ?
Yes, will have some work tomorrow @outlander.
No matter where we have lived, there has always been plenty of places to go on day trips to. Galleries, cafes, gardens etc.

Re: Hot Chocolate Anyone ?
It can be very lonely, particularly as families members have a lot of distance between them for various reasons. Whenever we have have moved, I have found that there are so many people out there who need a friend. Mr D has not found making friends so easy.

Re: Hot Chocolate Anyone ?
That's a good point (you made) @Former-Member
My Mum & brothers all live on the east coast (they always have).
There are very good reasons why I came to the west, & stayed here (the past 24 years).
Yet it came at a high cost, socially & support-wise.
Yes, like Mr D - making new friends has been difficult, especially in recent years.

Re: Hot Chocolate Anyone ?
Most but not all of my connections have come through either church groups or garden clubs. I have found it often takes a bit of effort initially but the rewards are there if I put the time in. Have had a few wonderful day trips with older friends - senior citizens are often lonely - I drove them places - despite their ages we had lots of wonderful times.

Re: Hot Chocolate Anyone ?
Sounds like some very good ideas, & good outlets @Former-Member
I love Senior Citizens (mostly).
Some of my clients are seniors - much more amenable thant the young ones with challenging behaviours (& far too much energy).
