I highly recommend listening to Gurrumul's CD ' Rrakala'. You can listen to some songs on youtube. Bapa or Bapu us a beautiful tribute song to his dad.
Djotarra is about a Gumath woman away from home.
Gopuru is beautiful.
Gurrumul sings in language, & he sounds like an angel singing. I find I feel really calm and peaceful when I listen to him sing.
I often listen to a song or two of his before I fall asleep at night.

seriously though, I grew up on punk and hardcore and listen to everything from those genres to soul, to rap, to outlaw country to folk.  

Lately, I have really been on a Brian Fallon kick.  He is the singer for the Gaslight Anthem and also the Horrible Crowes.  The horrible Crowes record “Elise” is just flat out amazing.   Other than that, the new Wisdom in Chains record is pretty solid, and I like Kublai Khan and Knocked Loose whilst lifting.
